FOUNDER
GUNJAN BADJATYA
Ar. Gunjan Badjatya is a seasoned Architect and Urban Designer with over 12 years of experience in the fields of architecture, interior design, and urban development. He is the Founder and Principal Architect of Ekistics Design Studio, established in 2015 in Indore, India, with a vision to create human-centric, sustainable, and contextually responsive design solutions.
Gunjan holds a Master’s degree in Urban Design from the School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, and completed his undergraduate studies in architecture at the School of Architecture, IPS Academy, Indore in 2013. During his academic years, he actively led the NASA Council and hosted one of the largest architectural student fests in the zone.
He began his career in academics, serving as an Assistant Professor at leading architecture institutes in Indore, where he mentored students with a strong emphasis on contextual, sustainable, and community-driven design approaches.
His professional journey spans a wide range of projects including private residences, commercial complexes, residential townships, interior design, and urban design initiatives. He is particularly known for his work in retrofitting, sustainable planning, and integrated architectural solutions.
Gunjan is also an active contributor to the architectural community, holding executive positions in the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), the Institute of Urban Designers India (IUDI), and ICOMOS India (International Council on Monuments and Sites).
With a belief in architecture as a tool for meaningful transformation, Ar. Gunjan Badjatya continues to lead Ekistics Design Studio with vision, purpose, and a commitment to excellence.
PRINCIPAL
ANKITA JAIN
Ar. Ankita Jain is a versatile Architect with a strong inclination toward planning, interior design, and cultural integration in contemporary spaces. A graduate of the School of Architecture, IPS Academy, Indore, she began her professional journey as a Junior Architect with Azad Jain & Associates, later gaining valuable exposure under Ar. Rathore.
In 2018, Ankita joined Ekistics Design Studio, where she now leads the Architectural and Interior Design Team. Her portfolio spans a diverse range of projects—from institutional campus master plans to the bespoke design of luxury homes—reflecting a seamless blend of scale, function, and detail.
Ankita is especially passionate about reviving and integrating traditional Indian arts and crafts into modern design narratives, a philosophy she actively promotes within the firm. Her work consistently reflects a sensitivity to context, culture, and craftsmanship.
In addition to her practice, Ankita contributes to the academic field as a visiting design critic at several schools of architecture and design, where she inspires young minds with her grounded yet innovative design approach.
With her commitment to detail, rooted aesthetics, and adaptive design thinking, Ar. Ankita Jain plays a key role in shaping the studio’s design ethos and expanding its creative vision.

Ekistics - the science of human settlements, involves the descriptive study of all kinds of human settlements (Architecture, Interior and Urban Planning) and the formulation of general conclusions aimed at achieving harmony between the inhabitants of a settlement and their physical and sociocultural environments.
The descriptive study involves the examination of the content, such as man alone or in societies, of a settlement, and the settlement container, or the physical settlement, composed of natural and human-made elements.
